English/Reading Teachers

We have several databases that have been purchased for our school. These are Opposing Viewpoints, Global Issues, and Literature Resource Center. Please click here to access the database page. In addition, the State Library through a grant, has purchased many other databases for Arizona residents to use. Click here for access to these.

However, you may still want to require your students to obtain a public library card as many more databases are available through their website. Any student who lives in Maricopa County is eligible for a card from both the Phoenix Library System and the Maricopa County system. Directions to the libraries and database access is available by clicking here.

Pathfinders

Pathfinders are resource listings for a particular subject area. They include subject terms to assist students in locating materials on a topic, listings of books and reference materials available at the library, and prescreened web sites. Pathfinders have already been prepared for general subject areas, and are available here. Please email the librarian if you would like anything added to your department's pathfinder.

If you are doing a project with your class and would like a specialized internet resource pathfinder prepared, please call 4626. This greatly reduces the amount of time students need to spend searching for resources, and it ensures tha appropriate sites will be utilized.
